Hi, I’m officially in the second week of creative computing, and I’ve been asked questions regarding my future. You know, all the basic stuff: what I want to do, where I want to be, blah, blah. But to be completely honest with you, I’m not sure yet, I’m hoping to narrow down the type of path I would like to go down as I continue on this course. For now I’ll just think of something interesting to put here and see what happens in the future. But before I get into that it’s reflection and recap time!
Reflection/Recap
The topic for this lesson was possible career choices in creative computing and I was tasked with researching one. I chose web Development! This was quite a quick task so my research wasn’t as in depth as it would have been if I had more time but here it is ↴

With this research there was a list of questions I needed to answer and they were:
- What does the job involve?
- What skills are needed? (This could be ‘hard’ skills such as knowledge of a programming language, or soft skills such as communication and collaboration).
- Who is currently in this industry? (This could be individuals or companies).
- Can you find a fun fact about the career pathway, or the people within it?
As I mentioned before I haven’t settled on a career path yet but over the next couple months I will take the time to narrow down and research a career that interests me. From there I will find new ways to tailor my learning to help me progress in my field of interest, where that is refining a certain skill or visiting some workshops.
I feel after completing this lesson I have a different view on how to prepare myself for a career in the future. For instance thinking about the way I should tailor my learning to make the most out of my time.
